Pregnant?...Nope

Apparently I still have some people (mom) reading my blog. In case I have others, I just wanted to stress that I am not pregnant, but we are trying to get pregnant. I was pregnant back in December, but had a miscarriage. I am going to use this blog as a way to remove the stress of trying to conceive from my daily life and I am really hoping that this blog helps.

I have learned so much stuff in the past 6 months. I thought getting pregnant would occur on the first try and never guessed there would be so much that has to be right in the world for a pregnancy to occur. You can check your cervical mucus, use a basal thermometer, use ovulation predication kits, check your cervix position and you still may not get pregnant.

Today was the last day of school and I have seen at least 4 pregnant HIGH SCHOOL girls walking around school and waiting for the school bus. I have to admit that it is a little upsetting to see 17 year old females getting pregnant and I am still not pregnant again. I told Rodney that maybe I should have started when I was 17 as it seems to work for all these high school chicks. Did I really need to make something of myself? :o)

So that is my rant for today. talk to ya later this week.

Has it really been that long???

I think it has been well over two years since I posted anything on the blog. I was thinking of starting it up again and maybe adding some humorous stories from my job (as a teacher) and life trying to ttc (trying to conceive).

Hopefully there will be more posts.

A Day as a Juror

Okay...I wasn't chosen as a juror but 10 hours of Jury Duty should count for something. My day started with a semi-relaxing drive to downtown Fort Worth. I am using the term "relaxing" very loosely. While navigating through hellish traffice I finally got half way to downtown and realized that I was almost on empty. I stopped for gas, got back in my car and continued my adventure to my civic duty. Unfortunately the jury summons did not give the address for the jury parking and the useless map that was sent with the summons did little to provide the proper direction to the correct parking lot. So...After 25 minutes of driving around Fort Worth, I finaly decided to settle on a parking lot close to Sundance Square. Unknowing to me, the court house is actually 8-10 blocks from the parking garage. All I have to say is that my pinky toes are killing me.

The beginning part of the jury process was rather fun and entertaining, but the fun soon disapeared around hour 6. I am happy it is all over and hope not to be called anytime soon to serve again.

Snow...YAY!!!

We absolutely love TEXAS!!! It was a wonderful day to have snow; actual snow, not just flurries or sleet. Rodney got to stay home from work, so he took some really cute pictures of Conan. I had to work, but had a fun time walking around all the out-door shops while the snow was falling. I really hope that we have more opportunities for snow; it is so beautiful.

Happy Birthday to Me :o(

(Did you notice Conan's smile? What a life! I want to be a Scottie dog)
Yesterday I celebrated my 26th birthday. YAY...I don't feel any older! Rodney and I had a wonderful dinner at Cantina Laredo. I got a new digital camera, but won't have it until Saturday as it had to be ordered. I hope that the camera will help me update my blog with more interesting photos of our family happenings.

My day did take a horrible turn when I returned home Wednesday night. I received a Summons for Jury duty. I can't believe I have to serve!!! the 5th of December is going to SUCK!!!! I guess I will be enjoying a nice relaxing day of reading and waiting.

Halloween Pumpkin

My Conan had a fabulous time greeting all of the children tonight. I was pleasantly surprised when he wore his outfit for over an hour! When some of the children saw Conan, they were more interested in petting him than getting candy. We did have a few 15/16 year olds. I really think that next year I will have an age limit for candy. I really don't think teenagers need to participate in a kid holiday.

This year Rodney and I underestimated the amount of children we would have. Last year we purchased four BIG bags of candy and maybe handed out two bags. This year we purchased three small bags and after 30 minutes I was having to use my ring pops that are reserved for pretty pretty princesses AKA Abby. Rodney and I started going through our pantry for miscellaneous items to hand out. After much thought, Rodney and I remembered yogurt covered pretzels we got from my mother a few months back. We had about 25 of these bags of pretzels and they soon became the hit in the neighborhood. Rodney speaking to one of the kids, "because you showed up late, I don't have candy, but I do have yogurt covered pretzels." The kid, "cool, I am showing up to your house late every year!" How funny!! I love the way kids act on Halloween. It is such a fun holiday!!
